The Babes-Bolyai University is the oldest, the largest and, in many ways, the most prestigious university in Romania. From a linguistic point of view, the university has one of the most complex systems in Europe: each student can freely choose the language in which to study (English, Hungarian, German or other international languages) and the study programmes may be followed fully in the chosen language. In total the university has 21 faculties. The faculty of Sociology and Social Work with the department of Social Work and its lecturers are working for the project. The department has significantly contributed to the development of Social Work teaching and Social Work profession in Romania.
